Thomas Haley is a Northern California-based visual artist. He is a multi-disciplinary artist who works with paint, sculpture, and photography, often in combination. His work focuses on his perspective on the world as a disabled person. He examines various ways he and other disabled people are oppressed, such as by terrain, by infrastructure, or by society’s attitudes. Works like the Pathfinder series illustrates how transportation infrastructure can hinder rather than enhance mobility. The Wanderlust series considers how nature causes inherent mobility restrictions for disabled people. Thomas is interested in expanding his work to consider solutions to the problems disabled people face.
